A week after the earthquake which left more than 3,000 dead in Morocco, thousands of volunteers are working hard to help the victims.
Go out to meet the victims, listen to them and offer them help. Since the earthquake, Thierry and his friends have been organizing to help the victims in the villages of the Atlas. They are leaders business, employeesretirements in Morocco. For a week, he has been traveling the mountains. The first stop is in a village, where the needs are great. “There would be a hundredeldest number of people who have lost their homes”says a volunteer. “We need a lot of help, like medicine, clothes for the children”specifies a resident.
Go everywhere
In an emergency, each volunteer does their part. Thierry became team leader. “The goal is to make them happy and please them”, he explains. We need to be able to give back the taste for laughter, especially to children. Very quickly, the convoy must leave and go to other places. From the first hours following the earthquake, they decided to go to the most remote areas. Since the earthquake, donations have been arriving from all over Morocco. The group of volunteers works under theeye authorities, and also relies on organizations.
