The France Télévisions teams were exceptionally able to board the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. Friday, March 25, in the midst of the conflict in Ukraine, he approaches Romania where he must help ensure security NATO allies.
It’s an airport on water that can send gusts all over the world. The Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier is currently on a mission off Greece. Friday, March 25, he changes course for Romania. “We are going to go and watch, see what is happening at the borders of Europe”, explains the lieutenant, Adrien, rafale pilot. The entire flight deck is mobilized to catapult the planes onto a 75-meter runway. You have to reach 260 km/h in three seconds. “There, it’s not an exercise, (…) there we send”said the flight deck manager.
The French pilots are sent to the Ukrainian border in order to assure the NATO allies and to show their presence against the Russians. It is a mission of deterrence. “Today, patrols ensure the surveillance and defense of Romania’s border with Ukraine”, says the commander of the aircraft carrier. They must also sail with the Russians. Climbing should therefore be avoided. But so far, the French armed forces do not feel “no aggression”.
