A man was shot while he was in his home late Monday night in the La Baie district of Saguenay. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
A major police operation is underway in Saguenay, following these shots fired on 6th Avenue, in the Port-Alfred sector.

Dozens of members of the Saguenay Police Service (SPS) were mobilized to cordon off the entire sector and a vast security perimeter was set up in the minutes following the event.
“The perimeter still holds. Our teams are working to canvass the area to ensure that we get our hands on all the evidence available. We go around the neighborhood to meet people and find out if they have seen or heard things relevant to our investigation,” explains SPS spokesperson Hervé Berghella.
The police force also deployed two mobile command posts.

No scenario ruled out
Nearly 24 hours after the events, the SPS has ruled out “no leads” regarding the nature of what appears to be an attempted murder. It is also not possible to confirm whether this story is linked to organized crime.
“One thing is certain, the man who was injured is not known to the police,” says Hervé Berghella.
