“I was very lucky until now, but it’s my turn to have COVID. Don’t worry too much, I’ll take some rest in the next few days to heal myself and I’ll come back to you healthy! Take care of yourself,” said Mr.me Massed in a brief tweet posted on his Twitter account on Monday.

Over the past few days, last weekend, Mme Massé had traveled to Rimouski to hold citizen meetings there as well as go door-to-door, just a few weeks before the official start of the electoral campaign, in view of the vote scheduled for October 3.

The whole thing comes as Quebec seems to have passed the peak of new cases of COVID-19 in this seventh wave. However, the trend in deaths remains on the rise.

As of Saturday, Quebec reported 2,086 people hospitalized, two less than the day before. The trend is thus up 11% over one week, but is showing clear signs of slowing down.

Of the number, however, 59 patients were in intensive care, five more than on Friday.

In the United States, President Joe Biden announced last week that he was positive for COVID-19, a first for him as well. “My friends, I am very well. I am doubly vaccinated, with two booster doses, the symptoms are mild, “said the Democrat in a video of about twenty seconds, showing him on the balcony of the White House in a dark suit, sky blue shirt and without tie.
