This Sunday, February 12, 2023, TF1 offered a special page in Anne-Claire Coudray’s 20H. An edition dedicated to the first anniversary of the Russian army offensive in Ukraine. For the occasion, the journalist went to kyiv to talk to the inhabitants. In a bistro, the latter had the opportunity to meet Anna Ganna Kinda, a young woman who is trying, somehow, to survive the current situation affecting her country.
“What does it mean to live with the permanent stress of an alert that can go off at any time?”, first asks Anne-Claire Coudray in an excerpt posted on the official Twitter account of the first channel. To which his interlocutor replies: “It means a bit that each time, it’s you who can be next, you have to take it as the rule of the game, as reality.” A reality she will never get used to.
“We do not have a choice”
At the heart of the war, Anne-Claire Coudray wanted to know if Anna would be “able to last much longer?”“We do not have a choice”, retorts the young Ukrainian totally overwhelmed. “We don’t have another Ukraine, we don’t have another life, we won’t live a second time, we won’t have a new family so we have no choice”. Upset by this conflict, which has lasted for a year, she prefers to remain hopeful. “I find my strength in communication with others. I always read news, I try to find the latest news. I try to lie to my brain and say that I am in control of the situation even if it is not the case”.
And to conclude: “When I see a soldier, even if he is in great shape, I will cry right away because with everything I will do in my life, I will never have enough to pay him what he is doing today. today for me and my family. The majority of Ukrainians say, ‘I will cry after the victory.’. A moving testimony.
