Forty-one people intoxicated and four residents died, this is the toll of the tragedy that occurred at the end of October in a Ehpad from Pleine-Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine). Didier Brune does not lose his temper. Monday, November 13, his 98-year-old father, welcomed into the establishment, is doing better. He fell ill after a meal on October 31. For three days he is impossible to see it and the information is fragmentary. “The information oofficial from the director, it was just a gastro”indicates Didier Brune.
A complaint filed
The establishment says it fears an epidemic and asks families to postpone their visits. The families will finally be informed of the extent of the tragedy through the press, five days after the poisoning. The manager of the establishment then spoke of an appropriate period of time to understand the causes and assured that she was not responsible for preparing meals. In a press release, the service provider indicates: “We are fully cooperating with the authorities. (…) Health and safety is our top priority.” A complaint was filed by the family of a deceased resident.
