The announcement of a fourth death in a Ehpad from Pleine-Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine) begins to rekindle Didier Brune’s anger. Today, his 98-year-old father, welcomed into the establishment, is doing better. Several days after the food poisoning, he didn’t really know what was happening. “The official information from the director was just gastro (…) We hides things from us”deplores Didier Brune. However, as of November 1, 41 people were affected, and three residents had already died.
An ongoing investigation
The management of the establishment, meeting in a crisis unit, ensures that it has alerted the families in time. She did not wish to respond to an interview on Monday November 13. But on November 4, the manager said: “We We are not food producers. We have a deal with a service provider who prepares meals.“ A preliminary investigation is underway for homicide and unintentional injuries. The establishment’s food provider assured, through a press release, that it was collaborating with the authorities.
