“The attacker” collected, online, “around 4,000 active email addresses and passwords” of Parisian transport users. The regional transport agency Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) announced, Friday October 6, that it had filed a complaint with the public prosecutor, after having noted a “fraudulent data collection”.

This hacking of data, which was used “to log in to accounts” of IDFM users, was first identified on Monday by a service provider from the transport agency. IDFM then asked this company “to take the necessary technical measures to put an end to this attempt.” The National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties has also been notified of this personal data breach.

Ile-de-France Mobilités, which organizes and finances transport in the Paris region, has not specified whether the accounts, whose data was hacked, were then used fraudulently. Users affected by this attack have been informed, assured IDFM, and are asked to reset their passwords.
