A shadow on the board at the start of summer for the Île d’Aix (Charente Maritime) : the doctor’s office is waiting for a replacementbecause the usual doctor had to stop for health reasons, while the two most intense months of the year are looming. Only first aid can be provided by the firefighters or the nurse. The mayor of the island contacted the council of the order of doctors throughout the region, made phone calls, launched calls on social networks. No answer for the moment, despite the provision of accommodation with a sea view and a very interesting salary.

“There is a significant premium for the permanence of the care given by the ARS, plus the acts. And you should know that there are a lot of acts since there are 2,000 secondary and main residences and between 2,000 and 6,000 people a day who come during the summer.“, explains Patrick Denaudmayor of the Ile d’Aix. Doctors at the end of their training or retirees are even accepted.
