IGPN seized for suspicions of police violence in Bagnolet, Seine-Saint-Denis

In a video of about twenty seconds, broadcast during the weekend on social networks, a handcuffed man is beaten by several police officers in the street.

The National Police Inspectorate (IGPN) was notified on Monday, July 15, after a video was posted on social media showing police officers beating a handcuffed man in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis), the Paris police prefecture told France Inter. According to the police prefecture, the Bobigny prosecutor’s office has notified the IGPN of a judicial investigation into these events.

In this video of about twenty seconds, broadcast during the weekend on social networks, and relayed in particular by left-wing personalities, we see a handcuffed man being beaten by several police officers in the middle of the street. We can also hear a police officer shouting “wait, not there, not there” to one of his colleagues hitting the individual.

On Monday, on X, the deputy of the 7th constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis Alexis Corbière denounced “unacceptable images”. He also denounced “intolerable behavior”.
