CF Montreal announced Thursday evening that Ignacio Piatti was back in the organization as a collaborator of the sports department in recruitment.

The former Impact color holder played in Montreal for six seasons, a period during which he marked the history of the club. “I’m happy to help the club. I will be able to contribute in Argentina by seeing many players, but also with my many contacts in the world of soccer. I am happy to continue the adventure with CF Montreal and [de] stay close to supporters in Quebec,” Piatti said in a statement.

The president and CEO of the team, Gabriel Gervais, who had mentioned such a scenario just a few days ago, is also delighted with the return of the famous number 10.

It’s very important for us to stay connected with our history and a good way to get there, [c’]is by collaborating with former players.

Piatti, who will participate in a media availability this Friday morning with Gervais, should act as a scout in South America and Europe, in addition to being an ambassador for the club based in Argentina.

For his part, the vice-president and chief sports officer Olivier Renard indicated that “it is important to use all possible resources to improve in terms of recruitment”.

It’s a great opportunity to continue this precious collaboration with Nacho. It’s good for him and the club to be able to work together on other aspects of the sport after his playing career.
