“If you don’t come back…”: This day when Charlotte de Turckheim almost saw Interpol arrive at her home!

By inviting him to his new show, A Sunday in the countryside, Fréderic Lopez was a hit: in terms of anecdotes, Charlotte de Turckheim is unbeatable! Multi-faceted, the sexagenarian has tested everything in her professional life, she who was a comedian, singer, actress and even author. But for once, it was about her personal life that she agreed to confide, encouraged by the host who started a completely crazy anecdote: at 17, she almost saw Interpol land at her home !

It must be said that at that time, the young woman is in Colombia, with a friend. When I passed my baccalaureate, I was invited by a classmate who was Colombian and was returning to her country. She lived with her sister and a duke, a real lady watching over you. Not allowed to go out, nothing allowed to do…“, she begins, under the wide eyes of the other guests, Barbara Schulz and Big Flo and Oli.

Except that me, in the meantime, of course, she introduced me to her cousins, and the friends of the cousins. And I fell in love with a Colombian, Juan Carlos“, she continues, almost moved by the memory of this boy who caused some fright to his family. “Instead of staying 15 days, I extended, I extended my trip. And one day, my mother called the mother of this girl to ask to speak to me and she said to her: ‘ah no, but your daughter left a long time ago with a guy, I think he is a dealer. I know everyone in Bogota and he must be a drug dealer or something like that, he must belong to a cartel. Can you imagine the head of my family?“, she remembers with humor.

A situation that his parents did not let pass: “One day I receive a telegram, with writing: ‘If you do not return, Interpol will come to seek you’. But my father, who already had the travel thing in him, said ‘No, I’m going to go get her’“. Arnaud de Turckheim, who died four years ago, then made the trip to Colombia: “I introduced my boyfriend to her and they got on really well. My father said suddenly ‘It’s stupid, we are in Colombia, we are going to visit a little. So we went to Cartagena, to Medellin…’“, she concludes under the laughter of her comrades. Did she confide this story to her daughters, Julia (37 years old), Clara (34 years old) and Johanna (31 years old)? Not so sure!
