“Things should become clearer by the end of the week. If Mr. Ciotti has not made the decision to leave the party, it is we who will regretfully leave this party to which we are very attached,” declared Wednesday June 12 on France Bleu Drôme Ardèche Mathieu Darnaud, vice-president of the Senate. Éric Ciotti provoked the indignation of his peers by announcing an alliance between the RN and LR in the legislative elections.

“Political commitment is, above all, clarityasserts Mathieu Darnaud. If the debate could be raised, Mr. Ciotti had to raise it before the authorities. We don’t leave alone based on personal considerations, with a very personal vision.”

The elected LR recalls that “for two years, Éric Ciotti never stopped saying and repeating that the greatest enemy of the Gaullist family was the RN and, the day after the victory of this movement, he decided to go it alone and leave All this does not honor his commitment and political life.”. He believes that Eric Ciotti, “through his attitude, he himself decided to separate from his political family.” According to him, it is only a personal strategy so that Eric Ciotti “retains his seat in Nice which he knew was threatened, to the detriment of his commitment and his political family”.

“To my knowledge, I do not know several dozen LR deputies [tentés par une alliance avec le RN]. We have always said that we would neither go towards the RN nor towards the government and the majority of Emmanuel Macron. Today, things are clear and they are reaffirmed”, concludes the senator.
