“If speech is freed among men, it’s great“, declared, Sunday February 25, on franceinfo Emmanuelle Dancourt, president of the #Metoomedia association, an association which fights against sexist and sexual violence and “doesn’t just take care of media affairs”. She reacts in fact to the #Metoogarçons, hashtag “launched by Aurélien Wiik, who has been an actor since he was a child and who has denounced absolutely horrible things”.

The actor from the series “Munch” revealed Thursday that he was “abused”from the age of 11 to the age of 15, “by his agent and other members of his entourage”. Now 43, he also reported having “filed a complaint at age 16″ because his agent “did it to others.” “I sent him to prison”, he added, and the latter “took five years”. In his testimony, he also questioned “directors” as well as “producers” and mentioned “attacks, harassment, attempted rape”.

“There was really something unthought about male victims”

“At the association, we received a testimony from another actor who does not wish to give his name, who experienced the same things as Aurélien Wiik,” continues Emmanuelle Dancourt. “He wants to denounce, he wants to say things, he wants to tell his truth,” she assures. “It’s really very powerful to see men stand up, because there was really something unthought about male victims in the #Metoo movement,” she observes.

Before #Metooboys, a #Metoogay was launched, with an article from the online media Vice, in September 2020, “In search of the gay #Metoo”. The movement gained momentum after the suicide of Guillaume T., found hanged in February 2021 after accusing a Parisian communist elected official and his spouse of rape on Twitter (now X).
