(Washington) Former President of the United States, Donald Trump, has opened the door to the idea of pardoning certain assailants of the Capitol, on January 6, 2021, in the event of a victory in the presidential election of 2024.

“If I run, and if I win, we will treat those of January 6 fairly,” launched the Republican billionaire on Saturday during a rally in front of his supporters in Conroe, Texas.
“And if it requires pardons, we will grant them pardons, because they are treated so unfairly” today, he added.
Since January 6, 2021, more than 725 people – including members of far-right groups Proud Boys, Oath Keepers or Three Percenters – have been arrested and charged for their participation in this unprecedented assault, in which five people died. In front of millions of dumbfounded viewers around the world, supporters of Donald Trump had tried to enter the seat of Congress, and for some had invaded it, when the elected officials certified the victory of Joe Biden in the presidential election.
On January 13, the founder of the far-right Oath Keepers group, Stewart Rhodes, 56, was notably charged with “sedition” along with ten other members of the organization.
At the same time, a parliamentary commission is continuing its work to shed light on the events and determine the possible responsibility of Donald Trump and his entourage in the attack. She subpoenaed several relatives of the former president, and her daughter Ivanka was invited to testify.
The elected officials are racing against time, because they want to publish their conclusions at all costs before the midterm legislative elections, in less than a year, during which the Republicans could regain control of the House and bury their work.
