If elected, Jean-Luc Mélenchon wants to restore public services throughout Indre

The name of the future head of state will soon be known. In less than two months, on April 24, the presidential election will end. In the meantime, the race for the Elysée is in full swing. Activists and candidates do everything to convince. The supporters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon organize a public meeting this Saturday, February 26 in Châteauroux to talk about the program of their candidate.

Public services less than 30 minutes away

L’Insoumis has particular proposals for Indre, such as restore public services throughout the department. “In our rural department, it is often the only contact that certain isolated populations can have near their homes.explains Eloïse Gonzalez, leader of France Insoumise in the 1st constituency. It is to respect the republican contract which is equality and fraternity on the territories”.

The candidate of France Insoumise proposes that all essential public services are less than 30 minutes away of each inhabitant of the territory. “We must be able to get treatment, access to school and essential administrations everywhere in France”she insists.

A Sixth Republic

As in 2017, during the previous election, one of the flagship proposals of Jean-Luc Mélenchon is the Sixth Republic. If elected, the Insoumis candidate will organize a referendum. “He will convene a constituent assembly for the drafting of a new Constitution, it will be up to the citizens to decide on the new rules”, says Eloïse Gonzalez. But the leader of France Insoumise in the 1st constituency of Indre does not yet know if this Sixth Republic will take place with or without a president.

“We feel a great aspiration on the part of French men and women to want to speak again, and not only every five years at the time of the presidential election.concludes Eloise Gonzalez. People are turning away from the polls because they feel that the presidential election is useless, given that they are never heard from again afterwards”.

The public meeting of France Insoumise is being held this Saturday, February 26 at 6 p.m. at the Salle Barbara in the Beaulieu district of Châteauroux.
