In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army bombed a building in a humanitarian zone. At least 71 people were killed, making it one of the deadliest attacks since the beginning of the conflict.

Smoke in the distance and ambulances rushed to the scene. Israel has just bombed the Al-Mawasi displaced persons camp, in the south of the Gaza Strip. Palestinians try to save the wounded but it is sometimes too late, dozens have just been killed. The Israeli army claims that the raid was actually targeting two senior leaders of the armed wing of Hamas. Among them, Mohammed Deif, one of the alleged masterminds of the October 7 attack. He is said to have hidden in a building hit by the IDF.

Hamas has denied the Israeli version outright. “These are false allegations aimed at covering up the scale of the horrific massacre”the Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement. As the war entered its tenth month, the Israeli army has intensified its bombardments, including in the southern Gaza Strip. According to the UN, there are approximately 1.5 million Palestinians in the area between Rafah and Khan Younis.
