Iconic ‘Walker Texas Ranger’ star dies at 66

Sad news for fans of the series “Walker Texas Ranger”… We have learned of the disappearance of the American actor Clarence Gilyard Jr., who was particularly known for his interpretation of James Trivette in the soap opera with Chuck Norris. He was 66, as the magazine reports variety in its columns, without specifying the causes of this premature death…

He starred in 196 episodes of the cult series

Viewers followed him in 196 episodes throughout the duration of the American series which originally aired between 1993 and 2001. His character description is that of an aspiring American football player who has embraced the career of a ranger, joining the police forces after an injury. He specializes in computers and forensic science. He is elegant and likes pretty women and nice cars. He also has a fiery temper with those who transgress him.

And Clarence Gilyard Jr is far from having only had a role on the small screen. During his career, between TV and cinema, we also saw him in the cult series “Arnold and Willy” or even the detective series “Chips”. Between 1989 and 1993, he played private detective Conrad McMasters in 85 episodes of the series “Matlock”.

On the big screen, Clarence Gilyard Jr. starred in “Karate Kid 2” or in “Top Gun”, where he joined the same elite school as the film’s hero, Tom Cruise, aka Maverick.
