It is a little history of the CSBJ who goes with him. After 15 seasons under the colors of Bourgoin-Jallieu, the third line and former captain Bogdan Leonte will hang up his crampons. He will play his last match this Sunday, May 8 against the Charentais of Soyaux-Angoulême at the Pierre Rajon stadium a few days before his 36th birthday.
“He will leave an indelible imprint of his time at CSBJ Rugby both by the values that represent him, and by his exemplary quality of play and his aura as a player and captain”, wrote the club in the Facebook post announcing the news.
More than 250 games with the CSBJ
Bogdan Leonte played 253 matches in sky and garnet. He started rugby at the age of 10 at CS Vienna before joining the CSBJ cadet team and then signing his first professional contract with Bourgoin-Jallieu at 21.
He played five seasons in the Top 14 with the Berjalliens, from 2005 to 2011. If not “a season of transition in Mont-de-Marsan”Bogdan Leonte devotes his entire career to the CSBJ, whether at the most at the French level or in Federal 1, National or Pro D2.
“Bodgan will support the sky and garnet until the end and will even become one of the flagship ambassadors of CSBJ Rugby” wrote the club on its website, thanking it for having “proudly defended the sky and garnet colors all these years.”
