Iceland is known for its many volcanoes which give magnificent landscapes where the lava intertwines with the ice. The 20H makes you discover this volcanic island.

Iceland is nicknamed the land of ice and fire and it bears this nickname well since many volcanoes litter this island. Many tourists want to discover these postcard landscapes. “The volcano you are about to see is one of a kind, to be able to enter it, I don’t believe it is possible anywhere else in the world”, smiles a tourist guide. To reach the interior of the volcano, you have to descend 120 meters with a basket. The images are spectacular with traces of eruptions still visible on the walls.

The spectacle is striking and visitors are won over by what they see. “It’s magic. The colors, the atmosphere, the sensations, even the drops of water are pretty”, marvels a tourist. Unlike this volcano, dormant for 4,000 years, more than 200 are still active in Iceland. One of them had also caused many problems with air traffic in 2010. Caution is however required for volcanologists who believe that at any time new eruptions could take place. For many, however, these volcanoes are an opportunity, not a constraint. Hot pools caused by geothermal energy are natural bathing places in Iceland.
