From Ben l’Oncle Soul to Thomas Dutronc

It was Malo’ who had the heavy task of opening the festival, opening for Julien Clerc. An honor for the young man from Caen who marked the French musical landscape in 2017 with his album To be. “It’s very exciting because it smells new” explains the singer-songwriter who returns to the front of the stage with his EP Break.

Among the other celebrities expected in Deauville, the public will be able to applaud Ben l’Oncle Soul (May 20), the trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf (May 20), Thomas Dutronc (May 19) or Juliette Armanet (May 21). A fine line-up of artists, between jazz, variety and soul, who share this brand new festival with young talents in different places in the city. The recipe for success hopes for its director, who has carefully chosen the programming. “We are going to set up this festival. We want it to come back every year so that Deauville fills this void that there was in terms of music” explains Richard Benhaim.

Philippe Manoeuvre, sponsor of the festival

For this first edition, United Music of Deauville offered himself a brand sponsor, Philippe Manoeuvre. The famous music critic is betting a lot on this new appointment. “I put myself in the place of an artist who is on tour. It’s exciting to have a festival in Deauville”, he enthuses when he is already imagining other editions. For now, the seaside resort will vibrate until Sunday, May 21. The festival should benefit from this long Ascension weekend which is always very busy in Deauville. It is Juliette Armanet who will close it.
