“I will not enter the government”, declared François Bayrou to AFP, Wednesday February 7. The president of MoDem deplores the absence “strongly agree on the policy to follow”, while his name was circulating in particular for the National Education portfolio, since his acquittal in the affair of his party’s parliamentary assistants. The political leader, moreover, says he declined the Ministry of the Armed Forces.

“There were two areas which seemed to me to deserve full commitment: the Ministry of Education, which today is experiencing a crisis of confidence that comes from afar and which I believed could be correcteddetails the High Commissioner for Planning. But numerous discussions led me to conclude that there was a difference in approach on the method to follow which seemed prohibitive to me.” The second subject, judge François Bayrou, “it is the gulf that has widened between the province and Paris, all the crises in regional planning and the now ever-increasing distance between citizens and public action.”

Asked about possible participation in the government, François Bayrou first responded on Monday on France 2: “The principle, for me, precisely when you are committed, is to never rule out anything.”
