“I will never leave public service”

Stainless! After a heavy heart operation, Michel Drucker is in great shape and teeming with projects. At almost 80 years old – including 58 on TV – there is no question of leaving the antenna and abandoning your red sofa. At the start of the school year, it is on France 3 that we will find him from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a Can’t wait for Sunday more humorous.

“I’m very happy because the France of the regions, I know it, I come from there, I’m not Parisian at all.”

“It will be at family Sunday lunch time and we will have coffee with me. And there will be no commercial breaks! Can’t wait for Sunday of yesterday, today and tomorrow. I will pay tribute to the current generation of comedians, highlight new ones and pay tribute to those who made us laugh. I’ve always loved showing people what they like and what they might like. This is my passion”, ensures Michel Drucker on franceinfo.

It is on public service that Michel Drucker will one day end his career, as he confided to Célyne Baÿt-Darcourt: “It’s my house, I spent more than 50 years there. I will never leave it. And I am very attached to the management of France Télévisions, which was exemplary when I was very ill. Delphine Ernotte and Stéphane Sitbon -Gomez supported me when I was, believe me, at the bottom of the hole. And that, I am not ready to forget”, assures Michael Drucker.

Michel Drucker’s other passion is the stage, which he discovered late in life. His second show From you to me will return to Paris in October, at the Petit Marigny: “I make fun of myself on stage because self-mockery is my favorite sport. In this show, there are two of us: me at 30 and me today. And the young make fun of the old. I’m not telling you how we do but it’s neither a hologram, nor an avatar, nor morphing” he shouts.

Between his role as host and his new stand-up job, Michel Drucker does not spare himself and still does not think of slowing down: “Passion does not tire. I have a taste for other people. I have always wanted to see people, talk to them, move them and make them smile. After my triple bypass surgery, the cardiologists told me: ‘You left for 200,000 kilometres!’. Being 80 today is not that old! Lelouch is 83 and making his 50th film. Hugues Aufray, 94, still sings and Line Renaud, 94 on July 2, is still touring. smiled Michel Drucker.
