After seven years of loyal service, Michel Sarran was dismissed from Top chef. The news broke last August. There was a before Top chef, there will be an after. There is already one. If the past feeds me, it’s the future that excites me“, launches the famous Toulouse chef. This forced departure was also the occasion for Michel Sarran to receive a real wave of love.”I was very touched by the tens of thousands of messages I received. It is heartwarming, he says. There are even people in the street who call out to me and give me their support. It’s very touching.“
If the culinary competition of the Six remains one of the fondest memories of his career, the chef replaced by Glenn Viel was not always very excited about the idea of filming the program. “When Top chef had contacted me, I didn’t want to and then finally I did. I admit that it changed my life and even if we become a little addicted to it, because I like these filming atmospheres, it remains a parenthesis in my professional life. So I am not in that logic. My job is to cook, he recalls. I’m not closed to anything but I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to do TV for the sake of TV. Of course I am contacted from time to time for projects but, for the moment, nothing has been recorded.“
