“I was told that I looked like a bitch”: Agathe Lecaron did not always have a good image

Bad reputations are hard to undo, even if they are unjustified. It is not Agathe Lecaron who will say the opposite.

Having become an emblematic face of France Télévisions in recent years – we find her in kindergarten house, MasterChef, Bel & Bien… – the 48-year-old solar host has long sought a career in Belgium, where she has lived for several years. Unfortunately for her, she did not meet the television standards that predominate among our neighbors. RTL TVI presenters are usually women”with huge tits, wraparound faces“, not really the profile of Agathe Lecaron. But beyond these physical demands which made her completely invisible, the host had to face much harsher criticism. “I was given nothing. As soon as I did a casting, I was told that I looked like a bitch. One day, a boss explained to me that I was not popular, that it would not work for me in Belgium“, she explains this Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the columns of the Figaro.

Feeling that the doors will remain forever closed for her in Belgium, Agathe Lecaron returned to France in 2008, when she was 34 years old. A choice that ultimately turned out to be beneficial!

After going through TF1 and M6, Agathe Lecaron is offered Kindergartens, right when she is about to give birth to her second child, Félix. This proposal, the host welcomes it with great enthusiasm since she has been watching the parental program for years. “I watched it for 20 years already. Maïtena Biraben who presented her at the time brought a breath of fresh air and freedom to TV. A tone too. There was no distance between her and the world. And it’s very important“, confides Agathe Laceron. A proximity that the host also manages to establish, in particular by deciding to shoot kindergartens in a house and no longer in a studio.

And for those who haven’t had enough of Agathe Lecaron yet, she will be at the helm of a new show very soon: Side roads broadcast on France 3, with Nolwenn Leroy as the first guest.
