“I want to be respected”, asks an unvaccinated pensioner who files a complaint against Emmanuel Macron

“I am a responsible non-vaccinated person, I respect barrier gestures.” FFP2 mask on the nose, Alain Sauvaire wants to clear things up right away. If this 69-year-old retiree filed three complaints in early January against Emmanuel Macron, it was to voice his opposition to the health policy led by the President of the Republic in the fight against Covid-19 and its consequences.

On the port of Larros, in Gujan-Mestras (Gironde) where he gives us an appointment, Alain Sauvaire looks at the restaurants with disappointment. “We will not go for a coffee because at the entrance, they will ask me for the pass”, he regrets. Indeed, since January 24, the vaccination pass no longer allows him to access it. However, he comes regularly to stroll around this charming port in the Arcachon basin, with its oyster farmers’ huts, and has his habits in certain establishments. “Morally, it’s very painful”, he lets go.

The first complaint filed by Alain Sauvaire is for “defamation” and “public threats”. “What pissed me off was that people who were not vaccinated were told that they would be considered non-citizens. However, if Emmanuel Macron manages to annoy us, I can do it too”, explains this former car and motorcycle dealer in the south-east of France. Formerly elected mayor of Istres, he was a socialist, but he says he tore up his Socialist Party card, disappointed.

His second complaint is filed under the qualification of “incitement to hatred”. “I love my country and I don’t want us one day to have a demonstration of the unvaccinated against the vaccinated that degenerates”justifies those who insist on non-violence. “On is creating problems in families. People are divided.” He also condemns the violence committed against the elected representatives of La République en Marche:

“Violence against LREM deputies leads nowhere. They are delivered to popular vindictiveness, which is not normal. But I would like to remind them that their leader, Mr. Macron, is an arsonist firefighter.”

His third complaint targets the head of state for “crimes against humanity”. However, Alain Sauvaire wishes to clear up any misunderstanding: “JI’m an unvaccinated, I’m not an antivax.” His companion is also vaccinated. “I don’t impose anything on anyone”, he assures. If he opposes the vaccination pass, it is because he says he has “doubts” on the vaccine against Covid-19 because of “the speed with which we found it”despite the guarantees provided by the authorities.

His three complaints were recorded by the gendarmerie. “I am not naive, I know that all my complaints will be dismissed because the President of the Republic has immunity”he slips, saying that two have already been classified. “But at 69, I’m not afraid of anything. I want to be respected.”
