The movement dismissed several historical figures while placing its trust in Adrien Quatennens, convicted of domestic violence.
The choice of LFI investitures continues to provoke reactions internally and on the left. “I think it’s a purge”commented Saturday June 15 Marine Tondelier, national secretary of the Ecologists, on the set of “Quatre Vérités”, on France 2. Like other personalities before her, the political leader denounced the presence of Adrien Quatennens on the list of 230 names revealed by LFI, as well as the sidelining of outgoing elected officials like Raquel Garrido, Alexis Corbière or Danielle Simonnet.
“I think it’s a mistake and I think it’s quite ridiculous, moreover, given the issues at stake”continued Marine Tondelier. We will perhaps have a far-right Prime Minister in three weeks (…), everything invites us to be serious, and to decency and intelligence. I learned about this last night, I was extremely shocked and I summoned authorities this morning to be able to discuss it with environmentalists.”
“I don’t see why we wouldn’t support MPs who are outgoing”continued Marine Tondelier. “When we discussed with everyone, it was always clear that all outgoing deputies from our respective political forces would be supported by the Popular Front, except in very specific cases because there would have been VSS [violences sexistes et sexuelles] or court cases. For now, La France insoumise is doing the opposite.” The national secretary of the Ecologists announced her intention to raise the subject with the first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure and the national secretary of the PCF Fabien Roussel. “It’s such a mistake that I don’t think it will go through to the end.”
“We must, I think, support Raquel, Alexis, Danielle Simonnet and the other candidates who are not reinvested in La France insoumise.”

Marine Tondelier also announced that she will not be a incumbent, but a substitute in the ticket of the New Popular Front candidate in the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais. “This is the constituency where Marine Le Pen is a candidate and therefore we have to campaign every day”gold, “since Sunday evening, I haven’t had time to go home”, she explains. “It is therefore not serious for me to claim to be an incumbent candidate in this constituency. So I set an example, as everyone had to make an effort in the negotiations, and offered my constituency to the socialists.”
