“I surrender”, declared, Wednesday March 13, in front of several journalists including franceinfo, Marco Mouly, one of the figures in the giant VAT scam on the carbon market.

Marco Mouly, who was carrying two large bags, went to the Paris judicial court for his incarceration, after the partial revocation of his suspended sentence ordered on Friday. He stopped to say a word to the press: “I hesitated to come”. Marco Mouly is counting on his lawyers to defend him and “hope (to) get away with it” even if he says he is sure of going to prison, saying: “It’s scary to go to prison.”

On Friday, the judge ordered the partial revocation for 18 months of the three-year prison sentence handed down in April 2019 by the Paris Court of Appeal for fraud carried out by an organized gang during 1998 and 1999.
