The owner of a tobacco shop in Uzès received a rather unusual letter. A man sent him a letter of apology and a note to apologize for stealing his sweets when he was a child.

“Hello, I am writing this letter to apologize and to make amends for a mistake I made during my childhood.” These are the words with which the letter received by the manager of the tobacco shop begins. “The Provençal” in Uzès (Gard). As reported by France Bleu Gard Lozère on Saturday September 14, the owner of this shop received a letter of apology and a 50 euro note from a man confessing to having stolen “a handful of sweets” when he was a child.
“Indeed, when I was a little boy, I stole a handful of sweets from your tobacco shop Le Provençal. That is why I have enclosed a 50 euro note with this letter to reimburse you and I would like to offer you my deepest and most sincere apologies.”continues the anonymous person. “I am sorry for stealing from you and I wish you the best for yourself, your loved ones and your business. Respectfully”he concluded.
The owner of the tobacco shop, Alexandre Goncalves De Oliveira, shared this letter written on the computer on his social networks, greeting “a little honesty and kindness in this world”. “We are waiting to know if it is someone who comes to the tobacco shop every day or not. We may have the answer one day.”he confides.
“This person put the church back in the middle of the village. She sleeps peacefully. It did her good to send me 50 euros. And I found this gesture kind.”he reacted to France Bleu Gard Lozère, confiding that he had initially thought it was a joke. The remorse of this anonymous person also made three people happy since the shopkeeper shared the 50 euro note between his three daughters.
