In 2022, an animated film project was born and was brought to the media by Kev Adams. A project, titled “Plush” (plush: editor’s note), in crowdfunding which would be at a standstill today as assured Mediapart in a long survey published this Sunday, April 23. For this project, nearly 770 people would have put their hands in their pockets by buying a bear NFT, icon of the film in question, for more than 1000 euros.
Today, their money has still not been refunded and even seems to have flown away. Mute so far, Kev Adams took the floor this Monday, April 24 to react. “Friends, I’m not used to responding to controversies. But here, given the magnitude, it seems important to me to make things clear”he writes in the preamble of a long press release before adding: “I was contacted in 2021 about a participatory animated feature film project”.

The 31-year-old comedian then explains the concept of the project. His role ? Lend your voice to a potential cartoon and promote it. “In other words: practicing my profession. THAT’S ALL”, he defends himself. Charmed by the concept “new, modern, cool”and the idea of “to share a film with the people who [lui] liked”the ex of Iris Mittenaere accepted the collaboration after being “assured of the seriousness of the project”. Moreover, he claims to have “spoke at length with the studios (who were supposed to produce and manufacture a film)”. Once this interview was done, Kev Adams was “in confidence, surrounded by professionals”.
But the investigator “Mask Singer” later realized that “their project was too ambitious and unsuited to the NFT and cinema market”. “I hired myself for nothing“. “I specify that on my side, there was no remuneration. The principle for me was to be paid only if the film was made. I regret that people today feel injured or betrayed”he continues.
In conclusion, Kev Adams claims not to be the “mastermind of some operation or scam”. He just wanted “lend [sa] voice in an animated film” and meet today “at the heart of a controversy that calls into question [son] integrity and [son] honesty with [son] audience”.
