“I obviously refute any illegal taking of interests”, reacts Wednesday February 22 on franceinfo Sébastien Lecornu. The Minister of the Armed Forces is implicated, according to information published Wednesday by the newspaper Release (article reserved for subscribers), as part of a procedure by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office. This concerns his past functions at the head of the departmental council of Eure.
Sébastien Lecornu is suspected of illegal taking of interests for having taken part in deliberations involving the Paris-Normandy motorway company, of which he was also a director at the same time.
“The departmental council was a shareholder, so we were in the usual and normal role for a department president to be on this board of directors”, he justified, specifying that other presidents of Norman departmental councils are also concerned. “I have obviously reserved my explanations for justice, in whom I have complete confidence”he concluded.
