His duet with… Cheb Khaled

Will she sing her revisited version of The doll that says no like at Bercy in 1996 with a certain Cheb Khaled? The song appears on the opus Live à Bercy which is still to this day the record for the best-selling live album by a female artist in France, with nearly 900,000 copies sold.

The interpreter ofAisha remembered his meeting with one of the greatest French-speaking artists of all time. “There’s someone from the record company saying to me, ‘Khaled, you know, there’s someone who’s going to make an album and wants you to duet with her'”he remembered in the columns of Pure Charts. At that time, the Algerian artist “didn’t have a lot of information about her”. Above all, he doesn’t know what he could sing “with her” and fear not “to be on top”. And when they meet “at the studio”the 63-year-old is surprised. “I found another character. Another character because I had another image of her. And I found a great artist who was humble, who was really shy, really discreet”. We will then find the duo in Geneva and Bercy in December 1996.

Have the two singers been able to see each other again? “It’s been a long time! But once we met again. There is always this happiness when we meet”said Khaled who keeps an excellent memory of this moment.
