“I love you for life Montreal!”: PK Subban honored by the Canadian

PK Subban left no one indifferent in Montreal and Quebec. He was polarizing from start to finish of his seven seasons with the Canadiens. Fans have not forgotten the defender. We saw it during a ceremony that was presented in his honor before the meeting between the Canadiens and the Predators on Thursday evening.

For fifteen minutes, his former team, which drafted him in the second round in 2007, paid him a heartfelt tribute. In addition to a warm ovation from the supporters, we witnessed the projection of giant images of the young retiree on the Bell Center ice rink.

During his 13 seasons in the NHL, Subban scored 467 points, including 115 goals, in 834 games. He had his best years with the Canadiens with 63 goals and 215 assists in 434 games.

Moreover, he won the Norris Trophy, awarded to the best defender, at the end of the 2012-13 season. It was this magical campaign that allowed him to sign a staggering $72 million contract for eight years.

After just two years, the guard was traded to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber in 2016. A much-talked-about trade that brought many comparisons to the table between the two players.

More details to come…
