On September 24, Svetlana Poteryakhina took part in a rally against the partial mobilization of 300,000 men announced by Vladimir Putin, in Kazan, reports the channel RFL.

The local court has just rendered its judgment under the Russian law punishing “false information” about the Russian armed forces, even if the participant had only a sheet of paper in hand.

In some cases, the law provides for up to 15 years in prison for recalcitrants.

Poteryakhina says she was threatened with torture and rape following her September 24 arrest.

Previously, the woman was fined 10,000 rubles ($215) for participating in a “prohibited assembly”.

Internet users on social networks were indignant at this condemnation.

“Can someone explain to me how telling people you love your dad discredits the Russian military?” a Twitter post read.
