The Quebecer did not make a single appearance on the ice, he who was sanctioned by Martin St-Louis for arriving late for a team meeting.

“It was not an easy day. I missed the meeting because I arrived two minutes late. This is my ninth year in the NHL and this has never happened to me in my career. It’s a shame that happens, especially in Tampa. I continue to live with that and I have the support of my teammates.

Drouin added that he had done everything to be there in time following a late awakening, but that he barely missed the start of the meeting.

“I didn’t even hear my dial. I started running to get there in time, but I had no luck. I just arrived two minutes late.”

For his part, Martin St-Louis affirmed that the file was now closed and that he had nothing against Jonathan Drouin.

“I’m getting to know him and I have a very good relationship with him. He’s a guy I really like. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it was the right one. He understands that and will show up on Monday.”
