The former Macronist deputy Sacha Houlié, now a non-registered deputy for Vienne, decided not to vote on the motion of censure against the government of Michel Barnier, finally rejected by the Assembly on Tuesday evening, October 8. “Because we don’t censor an intention, even when it is bad”he explains on franceinfo. “I judge people for what they do and not who they are”insists the elected official.

A rebellious MP, Sacha Houlié assures that he does not vote for confidence in the Barnier government. “I joined the opposition because, in sovereign matters, there is not much coherent proposed by the government and because I fear for our public services”argues the deputy for Vienne, who cites in particular the question of closures of “classes in rural areas” and of “access to health care” in the country.

But Sacha Houlie still notes “some good signs sent” in the preparation of the budget, “particularly concerning tax justice”. The budget will be officially presented to MPs on Thursday. The elected representative of Vienna assures that if there are “improvements compared to recent years”that is to say more fiscal justice, he could vote on the budget. On the other hand, Sacha Houlié “will refuse to vote for any drastic cut” public spending.
