The 42-year-old director of photography, she succumbed to her injuries after being transported to hospital by helicopter. She leaves behind her husband Matthew and their son Andros, supported by Alec Baldwin. “I had known Halyna, and not only for a year. I worked with her on almost all of her films (…) We burned down under the sun, we froze in the snow on the sets. We took care of each other. I can say with confidence that she was my friend (…) I stood next to Halyna during that fatal shot that took her life and injured director Joel Souza. I held her in my arms while she was in agony. His blood was on my hands“, he related, underlines People.
Very reassured, Serge Svetnoy wanted to give his vision of the accident and does not mince his words. “It is the fault of negligence and a lack of professionalism. Neglect of the person supposed to check the gun on the set and who didn’t. The person who was to announce that the loaded gun [normalement de balles à blanc, NDLR] was circulating on the set did not. The person who was supposed to check the weapon before bringing it to the set did not. And it caused the death of human life!“, he added, without giving names. Words which come to consolidate the most serious track of human negligence. Several people are in the crosshairs: Dave Halls, the assistant director as well as Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, young beginner gunsmith.
