“I have nothing to say about this case”, replies the deputy

The deputy La France Insoumise Eric Coquerel, president of the finance committee of the National Assembly, affirmed Friday July 29 on franceinfo to refuse to “add” on the investigation opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office against him for sexual harassment and assault. “I said everything at the beginning of Julysays Eric Coquerel. Eric Coquerel also refused to comment on the remarks of the ecologist deputy and feminist activist Sandrine Rousseau, member of the Nupes alliance, who called on him to put himself “withdrawn” the time of the investigation. On July 19, he said he did not feel “not weakened” in his post during an exchange with the Association of Economic and Financial Journalists (Ajef).

An investigation was opened in early July for sexual harassment and assault to examine the complaint filed by left-wing activist Sophie Tissier against Eric Coquerel. The latter accuses him of facts which, according to her, may “akin to sexual assault” during a party in 2014 in Grenoble. She says he touched her buttocks before texting her insistent.
