“I have never seen a politician do an exercise in total transparency on the facts of domestic violence”, declares the LFI deputy for the 5th district of Seine-Saint-Denis Raquel Garrido, on franceinfo Sunday, September 18, about Adrien Quatennens.“No one was asking him for the details of the handrail, the details of this case.”
The number 2 of La France insoumise announced on Twitter on Sunday that he was getting “withdrawn from his function as coordinator” of the movement, after the revelation in Le Canard Enchaîné of the filing of a “handrail” by his wife. Adrien Quatennens acknowledges having given “a slap”, a gesture he says he has “deeply regretted”.
“From him it’s something that proves that women are at the heart of the matter”, continues Raquel Garrido who also points out “loyalty to the collective”, manifested according to her by Adrien Quatennens. “I am not at all a fan of self-incrimination”she insists. “I am for justice to do its job in this matter.”
The rebellious MP then pointed out that in her view, “The important person here is Céline Quatennens. We have to show that we listened to what she said. To the point that Adrien Quatennens steps back.”
“As a movement, the proof is made that the issue of sexual and gender-based violence is taken into account in a very serious way” by rebellious France, believes Raquel Garrido. “What the criminal procedure will say will give indications to the decisions taken in the political movement.”
