For the first time since he announced to his leaders that he would leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, Kylian Mbappé played an entire match. Luis Enrique, his coach, will not complain: the striker of the French team scored both PSG goals on the pitch of Real Sociedad (2-1), Tuesday March 5, and allowed his team to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2021.
But does this mean that relations are completely peaceful between the Parisian coach and Mbappé? Questioned at the microphone of Canal + after the meeting, the French international assured that “everything is going very well with the coach, even if people may think otherwise with the events“, before adding: “I have many problems, but the coach is not one of them“.
On the pitch at the Anoeta stadium, Mbappé proved that he remained fully involved in the PSG project at the end of the season, by starting the match very strongly and scoring two nice goals. Enough to forget the casual trial which was made against him last Friday, when he joined the stands of the Louis-II stadium in civilian clothes after being replaced at the break during the Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco (0 -0). “Kylian, it’s Kylian, he’s the best player in the world“, launched Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the president of PSG, also interviewed by Canal +.

After this nice compliment, the boss of the capital club still recalled that Mbappé “is not alone“.”Kylian played for the others and the others also played for Kylian. Despite this qualification after a good performance, the subject of Mbappé was still on everyone’s lips after this match. “Today, Kylian is with us, he works for the club and he is involved. But we are building something for the future too“, added the president of PSG. “Apparently his immediate future won’t be there, so we’re experimenting with other things, and we’re going to test other of his teammates“, confirmed Luis Enrique.
Build in Ligue 1, where Paris is well at the top of the rankings and seems destined for a new championship title, while at times doing without Mbappé, and counting on the latter in C1 to give yourself every chance of going to the end: this is perhaps Luis Enrique’s new project at the end of the season.
