“I have always had political temptation”, confirms Michel-Edouard Leclerc on franceinfo Thursday April 18. At the end of March, the president of Leclerc confided on LCI to think “all the time” to get involved in politics. “I permanently hesitate in the face of what I find to be the perils of our French society, I wonder where I am most useful”he explains.
His actions on “subjects like inflation or the purchasing power of the French” are in this continuity, “I had the impression of playing politics by being almost alone in denouncing inflation”, he said. “I took donuts, the Leclerc centers took slaps, we were summoned to parliamentary committees”denounces Leclerc’s boss.
“Win the battle of inflation” before committing
Since the revelation of his ambitions, he confesses to discussing “with many politicians”, without giving names. As for the political battles he wishes to wage, “we need to regain the leadership of Europe to be able to make harmonizations, to be able to make fewer standards”, he explains. Concerning the calendar, he does not announce any imminent change in his functions, for the benefit of political commitment, because “for the moment, the battle of inflation must be won”.
