It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Anthony Kavanagh on stage! And, thankfully, that period is over. After five years of absence, the comedian is back with a new show, which he delivers on the boards of Gaîté-Montparnasse in Paris, entitled Happy. Happy to find the public, it is a certainty. If he had chosen to take a step back, it was because the showman suffered from serious health problems and he preferred to slow down, for a time, to enjoy his family.
Five years ago, Anthony Kavanagh actually had a triple embolism and a pulmonary infarction. “Just before leaving for New Caledonia, I had septic bursitis, a skin infection and strephe reminds the magazine Closer. They relieved me with morphine and I wore a catheter until the day before my departure. After thirty-three hours of flight, lying down, I arrive at the hotel in New Caledonia. I’m so stoned with fatigue that I’m having a massage. The physio dislodges a blood clot in my lung formed because of the withdrawal of the catheter, which crashes into three pieces in my body. This manipulation saved me, but I still had a lung infarction twice. I felt myself leaving.“
I had planned three years of break
Anthony Kavanagh suffered martyrdom…but all of that is behind him. During this break, which he granted himself, he also explored new horizons, and among other things received training in neurolinguistic programming, NLP. The father of Mathis, 12 years old and Alice, 5 years old, thought of returning to the stage a little earlier, but life decided otherwise. “I had planned three years of breakhe explains, but a small global virus disrupted my return. And with this new show, yes, I’m happy! On the other hand, this confinement made me know all the states. I went from showman to unemployed for the first time in my life…“
