“I feel like I belong,” said Geneviève Darrieussecq, the new Minister of Health and Access to Care, on France Bleu Gascogne on Sunday, September 22, the day after the announcement by Michel Barnier’s government.
At the Ministry of Health, “I feel at home because it is an area that I am fond of, that I know, where we have major issues that go beyond the contingencies of political parties”, specifies the former Minister Delegate for Disabled People in the government of Élisabeth Borne.
In a government that is very right-wing, Geneviève Darrieussecq also says that she “place, in a government of responsibility in a complex political situation.” She “regret” despite everything “that the Republican left did not want to participate in this government.”
“I am honored”, admits the new minister. She says to herself “focused, because I know that the stakes are immense.” “The stakes are that the French can get proper care,” says the Minister of Health. “I will have a roadmap that will be dense. That’s enough to fill my days.”
