The end claps are numerous at the moment for Gerard Pique. Last June, the famous football player announced his break with Shakira, after more than ten years of relationship and two little boys. On November 3, the sportsman revealed to everyone’s surprise that he was ending his career as a professional footballer on Twitter.
This Tuesday, November 8, 2022, Gerard Piqué played his very last match at FC Barcelona after more than 14 years wearing the team jersey. A rather hasty departure since he was expected to leave at the end of the season as is usually done. This last match was unfortunately synonymous with heckling since he received a red card… while he was on the substitutes’ bench.
Referee Gil Manzano having been far too lenient with the opposing team, Atlético Osasuna, Gerard Piqué literally exploded and did not hesitate to question him to let him know what he thought of his decision-making and started insulting him during half-time. “You are the referee who pissed us off the most” reportedly launched Shakira’s ex before adding: “It’s a fucking shame, I’m riding on your fucking mother!”. Which earned him a red card.
Despite everything, the supporters strongly applauded the reaction of the football player… quite simply because this referee is not unanimous in the world of football…
