“I expected a higher score”, the disappointment of RN activists in Indre-et-Loire

Nearly 41% of the votes for Marine Le Pen in the second round of the presidential elections. Despite this historically high score from the National Rally, activists do not hide their disappointment to see their candidate fail nearly 18 points behind Emmanuel Macron. In Indre-et-Loire around thirty of them were in Joué-lès-Tours to see the results.

Focus on the next Presidential

The defeat is all the more bitter because this time Caroline believed it. “Marine Le Pen had a great program, she had spoken well. We were all behind her to follow her ideas and there, unfortunately, we don’t see the end of the tunnel…”

Disappointment also for Jean-Guy, who campaigns every week on the markets of Tours. “I expected a higher score anyway… It’s true that I felt favorable echoes”he underlines before being reassuring. “I would have liked it to pass this time but it will be the next time!”

This is also ensured by François Ducamp, the head of the RN in Indre-et-Loire. To put the defeat into perspective, he immediately recalls the progress of recent years. “As in the European or Regional elections… Now in the Presidential elections there are many more people who trust us”he analyzes.

It’s a long fight” – François Ducamp, departmental head of the National Rally

“It’s a long fight”he sighs. “I’m not even talking about the old ones who knew Jean-Marie Le Pen and who gradually saw the FN, then the RN, increase its voices. Me, I tell myself that maybe in my lifetime, I see the party in power.”

François Ducamp wants to be reassuring. But at the microphone, it is a more gloomy speech that concludes the evening. “We’ll get there. Don’t worry, we’ll do it”, he reassures. For their part, the militants quickly return home. “The legislative, we will think about it later”blows one of them, disappointed.
