He is the head of a confederation of small business owners. 10,000 members in the Alpes-Maritimes. And his opinion is therefore particularly awaited. The boss of CPME 06 was the guest of France Bleu Azur this Tuesday morning. Honoré Ghetti does not want to give voting instructions, but he still launches leads to his members.
What do you expect from this second round? Change or continuity?
Already, I believe that it is necessary to specify that the mandate of Emmanuel Macron was very short. In fact, with the pandemics, with the various and varied crises, he has set up a number of hot topics that are really worth pursuing. In particular on retirement, in particular on a certain number of other subjects, in particular the drop in charges.
Does that mean you are calling for Emmanuel Macron to vote?
Nope, at CPME level, there are no instructions. For what reasons? Quite simply because we consider that our members are adults and vaccinated and that it is up to them to take their responsibilities according to what is necessary for an employer. We are generally responsible people.
You do not want to give instructions to vote, yet, according to several polls, your base leans more and more for the extreme right of Marine Le Pen. Can you figure it out?
No, no, I don’t understand personally, I mean. Me, I will commit, I will vote Emmanuel Macron. You know, we live in a place where there is Monaco and in Monaco there is national preference. In Monaco, there is the right of blood. All Marine Le Pen’s theses that don’t suit me.
What are the priorities for his second term if he is re-elected next Sunday, according to you, the priorities?
It is to continue to pursue what he started. You have to be able to lower a large part of the charges. You know that an employee who earns roughly 2,000 euros costs you about 4,000 euros. And that is no longer bearable. But there is also a second point which is important, which is to be able to recruit. You have to have people who want to work, candidates. Today, there are 800,000 jobs that are not filled in France because we find other people to work. What do we have to do? Simply. People have to want to work again.
So, what are we acting on?
The levers are simple. First is financial leverage, of course. And today people need to earn a good living. But to be able to earn a good living, we have to be able to pay them.
Can you raise wages?
Small SMEs can’t afford it. We don’t have markets that allow us to do that. I see it very well. I have a bakery in the hinterland. What is happening there is catastrophic.
