The host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and of Quite an evening tries out for the title role of a TV series for the first time, and will carry the episode Murders on the Blue Coast, in which he will opposite Garance Thénault and Serge Riaboukine. As revealed by our colleagues at Parisian this Wednesday, November 8, 2023, this episode will be filmed until November 21 in Sausset-les-Pins. The 76-year-old host succeeds Michel Cymès, Stéphane Bern and Stéphane Plaza, who had also played before him in this successful series, which mixes police dramas with French geography.
In Murders on the Blue Coast, Jean-Pierre Foucault will play the role of Marc, a heritage architect confronted with several homicides committed near SNCF viaducts on the Blue Coast. A duo of investigators, made up of a Parisian police officer on secondment, and a local inspector, will try to complete this perilous investigation, hampered by serious family matters. Questioned by Le Parisien, Jean-Pierre Foucault spoke about this role that he dreaded for several weeks, and which continues to terrify him even today, while filming has started: “Learning a text is something I haven’t done since finishing high school. I can’t sleep at night, I think about my lines, the tone I’m going to use“ he reveals.

Jean-Pierre Foucault, who recognizes “love and watch” this series, wanted to salute “the class of TF1” for letting him go to the competition for the duration of an experiment: “On TV, I play a role that I know well, my own!
