December 21, 2022, Jacques and his son Thomas Dutronc
bid farewell to their audience. Indeed, at the Accor Arena in Paris, the father and son duo signed the last date of their joint tour. A tour which allowed them to share many moments. Whether pleasant or unpleasant. And unpleasant moments, the ex-companion of Françoise Hardy and her son, experienced two in particular.
Thomas Dutronc who recently praised his parents in an interview with Galawas invited in
the show RTL Good evening
on Tuesday November 28, 2023. During his visit, the 50-year-old artist remembered this moment in the car which almost turned into drama with his father. Particularly when they were stuck for several hours in traffic, while it was “50 degrees” outside.

Jacques and Thomas Dutronc stuck in traffic jams
“I still felt a little responsible because it was him who told me ‘yes I want to do the tour’, so I felt a little responsible for him”first indicated the artist before continuing: “I wanted him to be well, to be well, to be in good health, all that. And from time to time, I would travel with my musicians, and since then sometimes with him. To enjoy him and spend time together”.
This need to take care of him almost cost him dearly. Or rather, increased his concern when, “in the middle of a heatwave, between La Rochelle and Carcassonne”the father and son were blocked “in the middle of a traffic jam in an accident”. “It was 50 degrees outside and the air conditioning was broken in his car. Well, in the front it worked, but in the back it didn’t. Impossible to get any cool. My father, I don’t know how he did it , I said to myself ‘let’s get through it'”, he remembered. The heat was so intense that Thomas Dutronc even felt the urge to “remove the skin”. However, he managed to hold back and not “to get naked” in spite of the heat.
