“I want to apologize to them.” It was in a barely audible voice that Nordahl Lelandais admitted having “killed” in Maëlys, on the first day of his trial, Monday January 31 in Grenoble (Isère). The former military dog handler later apologized to the victim’s family. He is accused of having kidnapped, kidnapped and killed the 8 and a half year old girl during a wedding party in Pont-de-Beauvoisin, on the night of August 26 to 27, 2017.
“I didn’t want to kill him, I will explain the facts during the hearing”, he said from the box, suppressing sobs, before the hearing was adjourned. The child’s relatives are “more and more determined, impatient, of course lucid about the ability of Nordahl Lelandais to tell the whole truth, especially about the abuse of a sexual nature inflicted on little Maëlys”, for his part, assured Fabin Rajon, the lawyer for the victim’s mother.
Already sentenced in Chambéry in May 2021 to 20 years’ imprisonment for the murder of young soldier Arthur Noyer, Nordahl Lelandais is also on trial for sexual assaults against two little cousins aged 5 and 6 at the time, and for possessing and recording child pornography. He faces life imprisonment.
