“I can be very embarrassed”: Bruce Toussaint talks about this disease that he has to manage on a daily basis

This Sunday, October 16, 2022, Bruce Toussaintpresenter of Live Toussaint on BFMTV gave an interview to our colleagues from TV 7 Days. The journalist – who turns 49 this Monday, October 17 – took the opportunity to talk about his daily life and the way he prepares his morning show which is broadcast Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

If it’s gray or pink, I can’t tell the difference

The presenter mentioned a health concern that haunts him on a daily basis. “I am very color blind”, he said. This disease encourages him not to wear “from red jacket to the antenna”. I always wear the same thing: dark suits, blue or black, and a white shirt. The concern, rather, for someone like me who does not distinguish colors well, are the maps projected on the screen. If it’s gray or pink, I can’t tell the difference”, he added. Concerns that even seem to destabilize the presenter: “I can be very embarrassed, and I have to be careful not to misinterpret what I see.”

In September 2016, the newspaper Liberation devoted a portrait to Bruce Toussaint in which he indicated that the journalist was already colorblind at age 13. Based on the words of the presenter of France 5 at the time, the daily defined it as a “big rod a bit lonely, not very good in his sneakers like all teenagers” and that “have fun cutting out the items in the ducks.” A year earlier, on the set of Hello earthlings on Canal +, Bruce Toussaint had revealed to be color blind against Thierry Ardisson.

On the private side, which Bruce Toussaint prefers to show discretion, the latter is married to the journalist Catherine Fruchon with whom he has two children : a boy, Noah and a girl, Lola.
